Product Description
They may look cute - but they sound anything but. Experiencing a movie or favorite album through the Kef KHT1005 home theater system is like seeing an old friend after a makeover: fresh, involving, more intense. The centre and satellite speakers all have KEF's stunning new 3" Uni-Q driver the smallest ever made, its 0.6" metal dome tweeter and double neodymium magnets delivering the extended bandwidth you normally get with much larger units.
The curvy die-cast aluminum enclosures eliminate the diffractions and internal resonances that so often blur the output of conventional small speakers, so the sound is cleaner and crisper. The sound image is completed by the new slot-ported PSW1000.2 subwoofer, its 100-watt onboard power amp driving a 8" long throw forward-firing bass unit. With output fully adjustable for phase, frequency and level, a ground lift to prevent hum and a cinema setting for even weightier bass punch, its attack is as forceful as it is accurate. Whether you prefer shelf mounting or floor stands with internal cable management, the installation is as discreet as can be--until you press Play, and the whole room fills with immaculate three-dimensional sound.
The sleek black-finished KHT1005 comprises four satellites HTS1001, a center channel speaker HTC1001 - all closed box design - and a beautifully matched powered sub-woofer. In die-cast aluminum enclosures, the satellites and centre speaker incorporate the smallest ever 3 inch brand-new KEF UNI-Q array for excellent dispersion and, as the centre speaker has an identical array, perfect timbre match across all 5 channels. Extended bandwidth is achieved through the use of a new 0.6 inch aluminum HF unit.
The KEF KHt1005 is the result of KEF engineers' unyielding quest to create a stylish, flexible, compact system delivering 3-D sound and audiophile quality at an affordable price. ~Stands Not Included~
Optional stands with cable management facility are available.

WOW
LOOK OUT!; These speakers rock, for a few hundred dollars you can't go wrong! My Brother told me to get these speakers after He brought some Himself, might I add He does Home Theater Installation for a living and He was very impressed with the sound quality! I am very pleased with this setup and even more impressed with the 8" sub. I almost brought the 2005.2 setup because I like BASS. I can't believe the sound that comes out of these speakers!! Thanks again Accessories4less for having great products and pricing!!

Small package but requires a big reciever
A viewer from Parker, CO US
If you need a small unobtrusive speaker system that has decent mid and low range, this is by far the best you can get in the price range. Just make sure you receiver is up to the challenge. A lower wattage receiver will work but you won't get the volume level. Even with a good receiver don't expect mind blowing sound. That is not what these are about. These are about good quality sound out of a small sleek package.

Awesome package for the price!!

The KEF KHT1005 speaker system is amazing! I recently went the HT route and purchased this set, sort of "puttiing my toes in the water". Let me tell you I could not be happier. Clean, modern looks that virtually disappear, and GREAT sound (IMHO) for HT use. The 120Hz floor on the satellites is a bit high, but for HT use, they produce a great soundfield. The sub unit provides good punch and does an adequate job of carrying the low-end for movies and HDTV. I highly recommend this set, especially for first-timers into the HT pond. You won't find better quality for the price!

KEF the wondeful little eggs
A viewer from Morris Plains, NJ US
These are great speakers. I got these after a lot of research and was impressed right away. I have these hooked with Denon AVR1906. They sound awesome. You might have to do some adjusting before you get the receiver and speakers to sound right. Once you have the setup, sit back and enjoy.
These are also very economic for the price. Dont think, go get them.

Kef KHT1005 Mini-review
A viewer from Seattle, WA
The first thing you notice about the KEF satellite speakers are the size, shape, and design. Each satellite is about the size of your hand and is shaped like an egg that has been cut length-wise. The casing is aluminum. Even though the satellite speaker weighs only a bit more than two pounds, there is a solid, hefty feel to them. The build quality is impressive for relatively inexpensive speakers. There are two easy-to-use binding posts at the rear base.
They look great, but how do they sound? I could say a lot of stuff using audiophile jargon like soundstage, brightness, laid-back, and so on but I wonÂ’t. What I will say is that the KHT1005 system produces convincing sound that gets you involved in what youÂ’re watching. The speakers disappear and the sound quality is there for the enjoyment of movies. For speakers this size, the quantity of sound produced is as much of an issue as the quality. All I can say is that they can be played surprisingly loud without distortion. They absolutely filled and rocked my room (12Â’x16Â’x8Â’) with my NAD receiver. In summary, these speakers fill my HT needs at a very reasonable price.
Now I didnÂ’t buy these speakers for critical music listening. The lower frequency range for the satellite speakers is a fairly high 120 hz. They will sound fine for background music, but when I focused on listening to some of my favorite CDs, my HT system fell short of my stereo system. The KEF subwoofer isnÂ’t as musical as it can be and the satellites can sound boxed-in (even though they donÂ’t look boxy) compared to my Klipsch towers with music CDs.
So who should consider the KEF KHT1005 system? Anyone looking for a sat/sub system because of space consideration, mainly interested in speakers for HT, appreciates good modern design, doesnÂ’t need reference quality sound, and is budget-conscious. The KEFs are harder to find than some other speakers, but are worth seeking out if you fit the bill.
