Description
The MM7055 power amplifier produces 140 watts of high current output from each of its five channels. This is “real world” power, too, measured across the full audio bandwidth (20 Hz – 20 kHz) at 8 ohms with 0.08% Total Harmonic Distortion. Among other attributes, this means the MM7055 is capable of long-term power delivery into low impedance speakers.

The Many Faces of Excellence
In practical terms, the MM7055 is ideal for a “5.1” home theater system, whether based on a moderately powered receiver or a surround sound processor. You can use it to power speakers in different areas of your home; stereo reproduction in two rooms plus a mono channel for secondary areas such as a den or kitchen. For more complex home theater systems, the MM7055 pairs with one or several MM7025s to help create a totally immersive “7.1” or “9.1” audio experience.
Inside The MM7055
A massive power supply includes a multiple-secondary EI-core transformer and over 65,000 µF of custom-designed energy storage capacity. Critical circuit components from many world-class suppliers were chosen only after extensive listening tests. Among these, the LAPT Hyper Power output devices were first used in Reference Series components. Current feedback topology insures astounding accuracy and control under high-drive conditions.
A Temperature-Controlled Environment
Physically, the MM7055’s output stages mount on an extruded aluminum “thermal tunnel” for efficient heat dissipation. With temperature-sensing forced air cooling, this configuration assures cool operating temperatures for long-term reliability, even when making full use of the amplifier’s substantial output capabilities.
Flexible Connections
Balanced inputs and single-ended RCA inputs are both supported, and you can choose either type of input for each channel, individually, for easy and flexible connectivity. Audiophile grade, gold-plated four-way binding post speaker terminals insure tight connections to your choice of speaker wire.
Custom Touches
The MM7055 includes input and output jacks for DC “trigger” pulses as well as RC-5 jacks for total remote control convenience, even with legacy Marantz products.
The chassis itself is heavy gauge steel for maximum isolation from external vibration as well as electromagnetic and radio frequency interference. And chassis depth is less than 14½” so the MM7055 will fit quite nicely on a shelf ir in a cabinet.
Power. Functionality. Dependability. And classic looks. The MM7055 is, simply speaking, a Marantz.

Buying a Marantz Factory Refurbished product is a great way to get "as-new" products at a considerable savings. Every product has been thoroughly tested, repaired (if necessary), cleaned and otherwise renewed to original condition. Next it's repackaged with original accessories included. When you consider that a factory-renewed Marantz product undergoes such close scrutiny for defects and workmanship, you might actually be buying something that is in many ways better than new. And for your piece of mind and protection, your purchase is covered by a full 1 year parts and labor warranty valid at any authorized Marantz repair center (you can look-up locations online here or call 800-654-6633)
Marantz, like all electronics manufactures, receives products returned for various reasons. In 2011 consumers returned 17 billion dollars in electronics globally, of which less than 5% were found to be defective! Once a product has been opened, it must be resold as refurbished or open box and can't be resold as new again. The history and reason why a product was returned is not provided to us, thus we can't provide any additional details regarding its past. All products are processed by Marantz certified technicians, where they are fully tested, repaired (only if necessary), and retested again to ensure the highest quality control. Each unit must pass a complete battery of test before it can be titled a "Marantz Factory Refurbished" product.
Most units are Cosmetically in Mint Condition (graded a 9 or higher on a scale of 1-10). Very minor signs of wear (light surface scuffs or minor scratches) may be present, although most units show little or no signs of any usage. We DO NOT sell products that are cosmetically damaged (cracked displays, broken knobs, heavy scratches, or physically abused) unless noted in the description. Unfortunately, we can't provide actual photos of each unit or pick the best one for anyone, as they are all randomly chosen from our factory sealed boxes.

Excellent But; Just Like New
I am driving Polk LSiM707 fronts and feel like the Yamaha was really straining at high volumes in my oversized basement area... definitely could tell some distortion at high volumes. Now, I can crank it up past what I can remotely tolerate and it is all clear, clean sound. This amp is literally like new, zero issues. I have a DC trigger run from my Yamaha to the Marantz and it cuts on and off like clockwork.
This amp doesn't seem to go on sale anywhere so if you catch it under a grand or even nine hundred, it's a steal. BTW, I have my fronts run balanced and the other 3 channels unbalanced... so it all seems to work just fine.
Great Addition
I highly recommend for cheap power. I am so pleased with my basement setup.
