Product Description
The skyrocketing popularity of home theater has
brought a whole lot of new components into our living rooms. It used to mean a
record player, cassette deck, receiver and a single pair of speakers. Now it's
an A/V receiver with surround sound, HiFi VCR, DVD player, satellite receiver
and maybe even a video game console. Add to that at least three additional
speakers plus all the old gear you already have and you've got one complex home
entertainment system.
This new abundance of electronic equipment has unlocked more entertainment
options than we ever dreamed possible. But it has also unleashed a huge rat's
nest of extra cables: one extra pair of audio cables for each of the new
components plus a whole slew of video cables you never needed before. While not
too many years ago you only needed a dozen or so cables to hook up your system,
now it can easily take 50 or more. And there's almost no way you way you can
make 50 cables look neat and tidy in your living room. Even the most
sophisticated equipment rack can't contain them in a way that both reduces cable
clutter while making it easy to reconfigure your components.
Enter the POD - Monster's integrated cable solution for home theater. Each POD
contains a set of stereo audio cables and a composite video cable in a single,
compact casing. Just switching to the POD, you can reduce most of the cable
clutter in your system by two thirds.
Before and After with Monster POD
The POD is truly a new concept because it's the first integrated A/V cable built
to Monster Cable's high performance standards. You've probably seen integrated
audio/video cables before in the form of the black plastic cables that come
packaged with most video components these days, including your VCR. But these
cables are of the lowest possible quality, made from the cheapest materials and
poor construction. They don't last very long and they rob your system of the
sonic and visual fidelity you paid a lot of money to achieve.
But the POD incorporates the same advanced construction found in our Interlink®
interconnects and Monster Video Mini 3 cable. Even though it's very slim, the
Video Mini 3 features double shielding that all but eliminates interference in
the cable, pure copper conductors for maximum signal transfer and true 75-ohm
construction that preserves every last bit of frequency response and picture
detail that your equipment is capable of. The audio cables in the POD feature
Monster's revolutionary XLN® (Xtra Low Noise) windings for low hum and buzz, a
100% coverage foil shield for low interference and channel crosstalk plus a
balanced construction to help reject noise.
Every cable in the POD comes tipped with gold contact, color-coded RCA
connectors that simplify hookup. The colors on each of the connectors match the
colors of the jacks on your components. The gold plating and rugged design of
these connectors maximize signal conductivity, eliminate corrosion and retain
the impedance and frequency response of the cable for outstanding performance.
For systems demanding maximum performance, the Interlink AV POD 403
features the same high quality Video Mini 3 cable with Monster Interlink 400
MkII audio cable technology. Interlink 400 MkII cables feature Bandwidth
Balanced® construction with conductors specially wound for smooth frequency
response and Time Correct® windings that incorporate multiple gauge wire
networks that even out the transfer of high and low frequencies. The AV POD 403
also features Turbine Design® RCA connectors that use a shell with multiple
diagonal cuts, like fingers instead of a single cylindrical collar, so that the
connectors grip jacks tightly for maximum conductivity.
