For use with DVD players, D/A Converters, CD players, Satellite receivers, and A/V receivers requiring a fiber optic cable terminated with Toslink® connectors. The fiber core of the TRIBUTARIES® Direct Optical Cable has a diameter of 1mm which is optimal for transmitting light in the frequency range of human sight. To prevent the loss of data due to light egress the cable's core is surrounded by highly reflective cladding.

To minimize loss, the fiber core's terminations are highly polished to a convex lens shape ensuring the maximum transfer of data to the receiving diode. To protect the delicate internal components the core and cladding are surrounded by a thick, tough, black polyvinyl chloride (PVC) jacket yielding an overall outside diameter of 6mm.
