How does the ProMonitor 400 speakers sound so good, despite its small size and modest price? One key factor is the performance of the small satellite speakers. Most small satellites lack warmth and body, sounding "thin" and reedy when vocal music is played. The ProMonitor 400 satellites have mid-bass drivers featuring butyl rubber surrounds, for long excursion without distortion. Butyl rubber surrounds cancel excessive energy within the driver, and last for years.

The driver is pressure-coupled to a 3-1/2 inch lower midrange radiator, which is mounted at the top of the satellite cabinet. The lower midrange radiator extends the bass response of the driver, to smoothly meet the subwoofer's upper-end response. You get rich, full sound from easy to place cabinets.

These small satellites are beautifully styled, with high-gloss black lacquer finish and curves worthy of an Italian sportscar. Their compact cabinets can be shelf-mounted with their detachable bases; wall mounted, using the rear integrated key-hole, or wall mounted using the optional ProMount 80 pivot mount.

Fantastic Little Speakers 
From the upper bass on up, the little ProMonitors are smooth, articulate and detailed. I listen all day with no hint of listener fatigue. I find the highs especially enchanting with these speakers - cymbals really sound like cymbals with shimmer and air and the sense of sticks striking metal discs.
I am comparing these to a pair of Canton CD1020s (also from accessories4less). I really like both pairs of speakers, but where the Cantons are a just a bit analytical and cool with excellent detail, the ProMonitors are warmer and more relaxed. I could easily live happily ever after with either pair of speakers, but if I had to choose just one, it would be the ProMonitors. Considering they were half the price of the Cantons, that's saying something.
A good midget speaker

Remarkable Sound
A great speaker - I'll stay with the Canton subwoofer, but these DT 400 series speakers are great.
